5:15 PM: Foto Focus Discussion: Extreme/High Magnification Macro Photography
Dick Foster will discuss examples of extreme (high magnification) macro photography at 2x and greater magnification of small subjects. This typically requires merging multiple photos to obtain focus from front to back due to very shallow depth of field. He will provide suggestions for camera settings, types of lenses, lighting, other equipment, and post-processing software.

Topic: Turning Your Work into Fine Art
Join Gigi as she shares her secrets on how to turn an ordinary image into a work of art. She will cover the elements of an image and things to consider in creating powerful images.
Gigi will show us some photoshop techniques she uses to strengthen an image as well as software plugins she uses to create special effects. She will be an open book on anything you want to know about her creative process.

About Gigi O'dea:
Gigi O’Dea, owner of Gigi Fine Art Portraits, is a Florida based photographer in the Sarasota/Bradenton area, who has been in business for 18 years. As a Neonatal Intensive care nurse for over 20 years, she has a special talent for working with newborns and babies. In 2017, she retired from nursing to focus all of her energy on growing her business and serving her clients.
Gigi has a passion to create unique portraits that stand out from the rest, with a fine art touch that elevates her work. She has earned the degree of Master Photographer, Master Artist, and is a Certified Professional Photographer through PPA. She has also earned her Florida Degree of Photographic Excellence and her Florida Degree of Artistic Excellence from Florida Professional Photographers.
Her love of the storytelling aspect that she portrays in her images has made her deeply passionate about competing as well. She is a six-time recipient of the Photographer of the Year award at BPPA and was a Top Ten Photographer the last six years at the FPP state competition. In 2019 she was awarded both Photographer of the Year and Artist of the Year by FPP. And again, in 2020, she was awarded Photographer of the Year.
