Choosing the right lens and composition to tell your story is just the beginning: You also need to select or create the best light to flatter your subject. Join Erik Valind as he explains how to achieve both with minimal equipment and maximum results. Classical and environmental portraiture topics will include: Composition of the face and frame, lens selection for different scenarios, the characteristics of light and how it behaves, finding the right natural light, how to control off-camera lighting, classical lighting patterns and where to apply them as well as tips for working with your subject.

Members only. Each participant should bring a single 8×10 print of their photo. Tape your photo in one of the provided mat frames, add a numbered corner to the frame and place it in a stand on the "Print of the Month" table.
